NATIONAL SERVICE PERSONNEL ARE TO BE POSTED TO ARTISAN WORKS TO REDUCE UNEMPLOYMENT IN THE COUNTRY

It is mandated by the constitution of Ghana that graduands from tertiary institutions are to serve the country for a year under the National Service Scheme to promote the well-being of the country.

According to him, it is painful when artisanal works are excluded from fields national service personnel are posted to serve. He said the artisans could have supported the government to reduce the unemployment rate if they are posted there

Mr. Dwomo said most people after completing national service become jobless. If they had their national Service at artisanal works they would have gained some skills to create their businesses to make living comfortably for themselves.

Finally Mr . Akwasi Gyan Dwomo called on the government of Ghana to support artisans in the country because they play major roles to build the country and also reducing unemployment rate.

He made all these known in an interview with Osomafo Kwame Owusu in Techiman, the Bono East regional capital.
