The quick response by Hon. PH Amponteng to fix the culvert between Wassa Juabo and Ampontengkrom is a significant step for the development of the area. An existing culvert connecting the two communities was destroyed as a result of galamsey activities which caused a roadblock, disrupting movement of people and goods between the two areas. Hon. PH Ampongteng had to intervene since it was affecting economic activities in the area.
This initiative demonstrates the commitment of the local government to address the infrastructure needs of the communities. Fixing the culvert, will not only restore the connectivity between Wassa Juabo and Ampontengkrom but also improve the overall transportation system, benefiting the residents of Wassa Juabo and Ampontengkrom.
The project to fix the two culverts, which commenced on Thursday, January 25th, 2024, is expected to be completed within two weeks. The culvert construction involves two separate structures in the same river (River Baabrim). One culvert has already been completed, and the other is expected to be finished soon. The project is being supervised by Zonal Feeder Roads Engineer, Mr. Desmond Mensah, the Special Aid to the District Chief Executive, and Mr. Kordegu Kwaku, the Assemblyman of Juabo Electoral Area.
In attendance at the site to start the project were Hon. PH Ampongteng, Mr Prince Nartey (District Road Engineer), Hon Kwaku Kordegu (Assemblyman of Juabo), former 1st Vice Chairman of NPP (Chairman Boozing) and Mr Desmond Mensah (Special aid to the District Chief Executive).
