The Bawdie-Asankrangwa Road is a crucial infrastructure project in Ghana. The road connects the towns of Bawdie and Asankrangwa, serving as a vital transportation link for residents and facilitating economic growth in the region.
However, the road has been in a deplorable state over the past years.
In recent news, Hon Ignatius Kwasi Afrifa, the NPP Parliamentary Candidate for 2024 elections, has committed to ensuring the completion of the Bawdie-Asankrangwa Road in 2024. This promise reflects his dedication to the development of the region, acknowledging the importance of this project for the community’s progress.
He said this when he met Asankrangwa Traditional Authorities and the media on 29th December 2023 at the Chief’s Palace. He highlighted the significance of his promise and the potential impact it could have on the community. According to him, the 56 kilometres road connects five constituencies-Amenfi Central, Amenfi East, Amenfi West and have influence on Aowin and Suaman.
He assured the council of elders and the media houses that were present that he had the chance to meet the Vice President of the Republic of Ghana, His Excellency Dr. Mahammud Bawumia following the 2024 budget reading by the Finance Minister, Ken-Ofori Atta on 15th November 2023 and he raised a lot of concerns on network issues in Amenfi West, unemployment but the number one priority was the Bawdie-Asankrangwa road.
He emphasized that the completion of the Bawdie-Asankrangwa Road is his utmost importance for the development of the five constituencies it connects. The road plays a crucial role in facilitating transportation and improving connectivity within the region.
According to Honourable Afrifa, the bad road infrastructure hinders economic growth and development in the area. “Businesses face difficulties in transporting goods and services, which lead to increased costs and limited market reach”, he added.
