Some market women and Drivers were left stranded on Mumuni to Prestea Nkwanta road as a truck fell on its side in the middle of the road. The incident left hundreds of traders, motorists and passengers stranded along the Samreboi, Mumuni – Prestea Nkwanta road in the Amenfi West Municipal on 24th May 2023.

Three(3) trucks were stuck in the mud at a portion of the road and one other car fell on its side between Mumuni and Nyame Dikan route yesterday.

The incidents stopped vehicles travelling from Samreboi, Mumuni to Prestea and those cars from Prestea to Mumuni. This occurred after a continuous downpour in the area which was worsened as a result of the bad nature of the road. The Trucks were transporting foodstuffs and other goods from Mumuni Market.

One man who spoke to Osofo Kwabena Anane (Royal FM Rep) who was at ghe incident used the opportunity to plead with the government to put their roads in good shape. According to him, the government must not wait for their MP to pass away before asphalting their roads as roads connecting Nyame Dikan, Mumuni and Prestea Nkwanta are deathtraps.

The Chief for the area, Nana Kwaku Amankrah, has appealed to the government to come and construct the road for them though he is disappointed in the Government.
