The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has just released the provisional results for the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) for both government school and private candidates! That’s right, the results are finally out, and we’re excited to share them with you.
A total of 600,900 candidates sat for the exam, including 300,404 males and 300,496 females from 18,993 schools. 53 candidates with visual impairment, 366 with hearing impairment, and 54 candidates with other special educational needs took the exam.
The BECE was conducted at 2,137 centers across the country, and unfortunately, 3,366 candidates were absent. The Council is working hard to ensure that all candidates who sat for the exam receive their results.
The Council has also released the results for private candidates. You can check them out on their website, waecgh.org.
The Council has also announced that they’re investigating some cases of examination malpractice. They’ve found some instances of candidates bringing in foreign materials, like prepared notes and textbooks, into the exam hall. They’re taking these violations very seriously, and some candidates may have their results canceled or withheld.
WAEC takes the security of their results very seriously. So, don’t fall for any scams or fraudulent schemes that promise to upgrade your results for a fee. It’s just not worth it!
In conclusion, the Council wants to give a big shoutout to everyone who helped make this exam a success. They’re grateful for the support of the Ministry of Education, Ghana Education Service, Security Agencies, Heads of Schools, Supervisors, Invigilators, Examiners, and all the other stakeholders who contributed to the successful conduct of the examination and release of results.
