It was an ecstatic moment when Joana Gyan Cudjoe, Wife of Ghanaian Musician, Keche defeated Hon. Peter Kwakye Ackah in Amenfi Central today.
Hon. Peter Yaw Kwakye Ackah, the incumbent Member of Parliament for Amenfi Central has lost his position as the candidate to represent NDC in the 2024 election to Joana Gyan Cudjoe, Wife of Ghanaian Musician, Keche.
The incumbent MP polled 575 votes whilst MRs. Joana Gyan Cudjoe amassed 747 votes in the just-ended NDC elections. Daniel Appiah had 74 votes, Karl Mark Arhin 39 and Elijah Jones 2.
This means Mrs. Joana Gyan Cudjoe will lead the party for the NDC in the 2024 general elections.
It was expected that Hon Peter Kwakye was in a better position to win the election but the opposite was the case.
Many are pleased with the result of the election as they believe that change is inevitable.
