The Western Central Regional Police Command has apprehended two individuals in connection with the fatal stabbing of a 20-year-old man in the Asankrangwa Education Area in the Wassa Amenfi West Municipality of the Western Region of Ghana. The incident occurred on Sunday, August 17th, 2025.
Preliminary investigations suggest that the victim was chased down by a group of individuals, including the two suspects now in custody. The group allegedly inflicted multiple stab wounds on the victim, leading to his death at the scene. Law enforcements confirm that the motivation of the group stabbing was a previous disagreement.
The swift response of the police resulted in the arrest of Kwasi Opong, 36, and William Francis Osei, 23. The two suspects are currently in police custody, actively assisting with the ongoing investigation. However, police have stated that this not where the case ends. There is a third member that is not being accounted for that needs to be investigated.
The body of the deceased has been transported to the Asankrangwa Catholic Hospital Morgue, where it will be prepared for preservation and a subsequent autopsy to determine the precise cause of death. The authorities are also asking to the public for any help that may come their way.
