Samreboi Citizens Demand Their Share of Leadership in Amenfi West

Evangelist Isaac Acquah, a concerned citizen known as “Vacuum Creature,” has issued a strong call for greater inclusivity in leadership selection within the Amenfi West Constituency. His statement highlights a long-standing pattern of exclusion experienced by the Samreboi community, prompting a demand for equitable representation.

Evangelist Acquah expresses deep concern over the consistent overlooking of Samreboi for key leadership positions, despite its unwavering support for the municipality since 1992. He points to a historical trend where all Municipal Chief Executives (MCEs) in Amenfi West have originated from Asankrangwa, the district capital. Furthermore, he notes that Members of Parliament have also predominantly hailed from Asankrangwa, with the only exception being the late Hon. John Gyetuah, a native of Asankran Breman.

This historical precedent, according to Evangelist Acquah, suggests a troubling likelihood that the next MCE will also be from Asankrangwa. He argues strongly against this continuation of a pattern that disenfranchises Samreboi. He emphasizes the presence of qualified individuals within Samreboi, specifically citing Mr. Paul Larbi (Cocoa District Drector) and Mr. Solomon Blay as examples of capable leaders who deserve consideration. He also highlights the potential contributions of many capable young people within Samreboi who are equally deserving of leadership opportunities.

Evangelist Acquah’s call for action is direct and forceful. He believes it is time for Samreboi residents to actively advocate for their representation, demanding a break in the cycle of exclusion. His message is a plea for a more just and equitable distribution of leadership roles within the constituency, ensuring that all communities have the opportunity to participate in and benefit from local governance. The statement is a clear challenge to the current political structure and a strong assertion of the community’s right to be fairly represented in the decision-making processes that affect their lives. The call to action underlines the urgent need for meaningful change in the allocation of leadership positions in Amenfi West.
