Samartex Hands Over 21 Modern Bedrooms to Ghana Police Service

In a gesture of support and community responsibility, Samartex Timber and Plywood Company Limited has built and furnished a 21-bedroom structure for the Ghana Police Service in Samreboi. The handover ceremony, which took place on October 15, 2024, highlights the company’s commitment to fostering a safe and secure environment for the community.

Mr. Richard Nsenkyire, Managing Director of Samartex, emphasized the importance of providing adequate accommodation for the police personnel, who are tasked with ensuring the safety and security of the community. He revealed that the company was moved to act after witnessing the challenging living conditions faced by officers who had been deployed to Samreboi.

Nsenkyire stressed the importance of a “maintenance culture,” urging the police to maintain the new facility to the highest standards. He expressed his hope that in the next five to ten years, the facility would remain in good condition, reflecting the company’s investment. He further appealed to the community to cooperate with and support the police, stressing that a strong partnership between the police and the community is essential for effective policing and crime prevention.

Desmond Owusu Boampong, the police correspondent at the event, expressed gratitude for the generous donation. He recounted how Samartex initially provided accommodation for some officers for over two months upon their arrival in the area. He expressed surprise and appreciation upon learning that the company was building a permanent structure for the police.

Nana Owusu, chief of the area, praised Mr. Nsenkyire for his unwavering commitment to the well-being of the Samreboi community. He emphasized that he lacked the words to adequately describe the company’s Managing Director.

This partnership between Samartex Timber & Plywood and the Ghana Police Service serves as a model for community engagement and corporate social responsibility. It demonstrates the positive impact that businesses can have on their surrounding communities by investing in infrastructure, supporting essential services, and fostering a sense of partnership. This initiative will undoubtedly enhance the living conditions of police personnel in Samreboi, ultimately contributing to a safer and more secure environment for the community.
