Renowned writer, Prince Ayerakwa (popularly known as PAZION) , a native of Asankran Oda in the Wassa Amenfi West Municipality of the Western Region of Ghana celebrated a significant milestone on November 24th, 2024, with the successful launch of his two books, “The Inner Harmony From a Clear Conscience” and “Street Smart, Book Smart,” at the Asankrangwa Melody Hotel in the Western Region of Ghana. The event, which drew a large and enthusiastic crowd, showcased not only Ayerakwa’s literary achievements but also the vibrant cultural scene of Wassaman.
The launch was presided over by Mr. Alberto Tekyi, former District Chief Executive and proprietor of IBS Educational Complex, who demonstrated his strong support by purchasing a copy of the book for the highest price of GH¢5,000. This generous gesture was followed by bids of GH¢2,000 each from Mr. Justice Eshun, CEO of Modish Royal Montessori, and Hon. Ignatius Kwasi Afrifa, NPP parliamentary candidate, further underscoring the community’s enthusiasm for Ayerakwa’s work.
Mr.Enock Aduabaah,popularly known as Alan Cash also grabbed a copy at GhC1000 including several others.
The books themselves received insightful reviews. “The Inner Harmony From a Clear Conscience” was expertly analyzed by Mr. Philip Amoasi, former head of supervision at the Ghana Education Service – Amenfi West Municipal and a notable figure, having won the “Agoroo” national super champion title in August 2001. “Street Smart, Book Smart” was equally well-received, with insightful commentary provided by Miss Dadylina Sarpong Boateng Miriam, Assistant Director – Amenfi West Municipal Assembly, and Mr. Samuel Archer, Head of the Science Department at Asankrangwa Senior High Technical School (Asectech).
The smooth running of the event was ensured by a dedicated team. Mr. Gilbert Kwame Adjei Tannor served as the master of ceremonies, expertly guiding the proceedings, supported by Koffie Wisdom (MC Vhimguy) who managed the engaging auction. The organizational prowess of Mr. Oppong Tawiah, Barnabas Boham, and Desmond Duku was evident in the seamless flow of events. Diana Oforiwaa mesmerized the audience with a stirring poem titled “Talents of the Land, an Ode to Asankranman”. In her thought-provoking piece, she celebrated the diverse talents that thrive in Amenfi West, while also paying tribute to the area’s rich cultural heritage and profound history. Furthermore, the efficient ushers, Miss Patricia Ayaribilla, Nelissa Boateng, Shariffa Alhassan, and Evelyn Donkor, contributed significantly to the event’s success.
Adding to the festive atmosphere were captivating performances by musician Quasi Darkx and Abacha, whose musical talents captivated the audience, and the mesmerizing dance skills displayed by the Five Star Dancers and Kofi Kingsley. The evening concluded with a well-deserved and enjoyable refreshment session for all attendees.
The successful launch of Prince Ayerakwa’s books serves as a testament to his literary talent and the community’s strong support for local talent. The event was a resounding success, blending insightful literary critique, community celebration, and vibrant entertainment into a memorable occasion.
