President Mahama Urged to Appoint ASANCO Alumnus, Now NDC Librarian  for Ghana Library Authority CEO Job

Some supporters of the NDC party are making a strong case for Mr. Israel Yao Dzantor, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Librarian, to be recognized and rewarded for his years of dedicated service to the party. Highlighting his extensive qualifications and commitment to preserving the NDC’s history and ideals, advocates argue that he is exceptionally well-suited for a leadership position, particularly as the CEO of the Ghana Library Authority.

A vibrant and dedicated individual hailing from Asankrangwa in the Western Region, Mr. Dzantor has served as the NDC’s librarian at the Atta Mills Memorial Research Library (NDC Headquarters) since 2014. Over the years, he has become an indispensable asset, meticulously documenting and archiving the party’s journey. He is the author of key historical and foundational texts for the NDC, including the 2022 Administrative History of The NDC, the 2023 Manifesto Scroll of The NDC, the 2024 Constitution Scroll of The NDC, the 2014 Evolution of The Fourth Republic – Ghanaian Times Index – 1990-1993, the 2024 Evolution of The Fourth Republic – Daily Graphic Index – 1990-1993, Anti-Thesis of The NDC – Daily Graphic – 1990-1993, and Anti-Thesis of The NDC – Ghanaian Times – 1990-1993.

Beyond his prolific writing and archiving, Mr. Dzantor boasts an impressive academic record, holding a PhD in Information Science from the University of South Africa, an M.A. in Information Studies from the University of Ghana, Legon, a B.Ed in Social Science from the University of Education, Winneba, and an SSSCE from Asankrangwa Secondary School.

His professional experience further bolsters his qualifications. Comrade Israel Dzantor brings to the table 12 years of experience in Information Management, Publishing, and Information Service, primarily at the Atta Mills Memorial Research Library. Prior to his long-standing role with the NDC, he gained experience as a part-time lecturer at the University of Cape Coast Center for Continuing Education in Takoradi (2013-2014), as an Assistant Librarian at Takoradi Polytechnic in 2013, and as a Librarian at Bishop Herman College in 2012, among other roles.

Furthermore, Mr. Dzantor is an active member of the Ghana Library Association, demonstrating his commitment to the broader library and information science community.

Given his extensive experience, deep understanding of information management, proven dedication to the NDC, and impressive academic credentials, supporters are arguing that Mr. Israel Yao Dzantor is the ideal candidate to be appointed as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Ghana Library Authority.
