As the 2023 academic year comes to a close, students of IBS Educational Complex embarked on a memorable journey to Cape Coast tourist sites
on September 14th, 2023, which provided an enriching experience for the students as they explored the historical and cultural landmarks in and around Cape Coast.
During their visit, the students had the privilege to explore Cape Coast Castle, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This historic fortress, constructed during the colonial era, played a significant role in the transatlantic slave trade. The students learned about the castle’s history, the harrowing conditions endured by enslaved Africans, and the profound impact of the slave trade on the region.
The sightseeing adventures organized by IBS Educational Complex also included visits to the breathtaking natural wonders in the Cape Coast region. The students had the opportunity to explore Kakum National Park, renowned for its lush rainforest and captivating canopy walkway. Walking among the treetops provided the students with awe-inspiring views of the surrounding landscape.
Additionally, the students visited Cape Coast Melcom which offered the students a wide range of products such as groceries and other items. This provided the student with an excellent opportunity to not only engage in shopping but also learn about the culture and history of the area.
The excursion organized by IBS Educational Complex offered more than just recreational value. The students gained a deeper understanding of Ghana’s rich culture, natural environment, and historical significance. Guided by knowledgeable cicerones, the students broadened their perspectives and gained valuable insights into different ways of life.
