In a heartwarming gesture of philanthropy, Mr. Maxwell Nana Yaw Boakye Palasco, CEO and Board Chairman of Max Palasco Group of Companies, marked his birthday with a significant donation to the Asankrangwa Catholic Hospital. The event, held on September 21st, 2024, at the hospital’s forecourt, saw Mr. Palasco not only provide crucial medical equipment but also extend a hand of support to patients in need.
His generosity extended beyond equipment, as he personally covered the medical bills of 13 patients, amounting to GHC11,600. This act of compassion demonstrated his dedication to alleviating financial burdens and improving access to healthcare for those who need it most.
The donation itself was a substantial one, comprising a range of medical equipment and essential supplies. The highlight was the donation of an incubator, a critical piece of equipment that the hospital had never received in its 70-year history. This donation alone signifies a monumental step forward in the hospital’s ability to provide vital care, especially for newborns.
Beyond the incubator, Mr. Palasco donated 2 infusion pumps, 50 surgical gloves, 2 pulse handheld oximeters, 1 vein finder, 1 suction machine, 5 thermometer guns, 100 mosquito nets, 5 nebulizer machines, 100 examination gloves, 10 wheelchairs, 100 face masks, and 10 ward screens. These items further equip the hospital to deliver comprehensive and effective healthcare.
The donation went beyond medical equipment, extending to additional amenities designed to improve the hospital’s functionality and patient experience. Mr. Palasco provided 2 table-top fridges, 5 flat-screen TVs (32 inches), a 3-in-1 printer, 1 UPS, 30 packs of bottled water, 250 packages of snacks, and 40 packs of baby food. These additions underscore his commitment to ensuring the well-being of both patients and staff.
In his address, Mr. Palasco emphasized his deep connection to the Wassa community, expressing gratitude for their role in his success and his desire to give back. He also took this opportunity to announce his new project, “Win Energy,” which will be established in Amenfi West and later expanded to other areas in Ghana.
The Amenfi West Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Lord Nana Tando, echoed the sentiment of gratitude, highlighting the historic nature of the donation and advising the hospital management to make effective use of the equipment to improve health outcomes in the area.
Dr. Sabina Donkor, the Clinical Coordinator, expressed her immense gratitude on behalf of the hospital, emphasizing the transformative impact this donation will have on their ability to provide vital care.
The event, filled with heartfelt gratitude and a sense of community spirit, served as a powerful reminder of the impact of individual generosity. Mr. Palasco’s donation not only provided critical resources but also instilled hope and demonstrated a true commitment to improving lives in the Amenfi West community. His philanthropic gesture will undoubtedly leave a lasting legacy at the Asankrangwa Catholic Hospital and serve as an inspiration for others to contribute to their communities.
