Kwame Asare Obeng, popularly known as A Plus, a prominent figure in Ghana and Member of Parliament for Gomoa Central in the Central Region, has publicly praised Hon. Alexander Kwamina Afenyo-Markin, the Member of Parliament for the Effutu Constituency, for his significant contributions to the development and transformation of Winneba. A Plus made these remarks during an appearance on the UnitedBizShow program on UTV.
A Plus characterized Hon. Afenyo-Markin as a “great guy” and asserted that Ghana would be a significantly better country if all Members of Parliament demonstrated the same level of dedication and positive impact within their constituencies. He highlighted Hon. Afenyo-Markin’s commitment to empowering the youth and assisting anyone in Winneba who demonstrates a genuine desire to improve themselves or contribute to the community.
While acknowledging that Hon. Afenyo-Markin’s approach to certain matters may not be universally appreciated, A Plus emphasized that such imperfections are inherent in every human being. He suggested that the overall positive impact outweighs any perceived shortcomings in his style or methodology.
A Plus specifically cited Hon. Afenyo-Markin’s proactive utilization of the DRIP (District Road Improvement Programme) machine, a resource provided to each constituency. He contrasted Hon. Afenyo-Markin’s initiative in using the machine to create roads leading to new development sites with situations in other areas where the machines remain idle at the assembly grounds. This comparison served to underscore Hon. Afenyo-Markin’s commitment to tangible progress and effective resource management.
Based on his assessment of Hon. Afenyo-Markin’s developmental achievements within the Effutu Constituency, A Plus confidently predicted that the MP would consistently secure re-election with a margin of no less than 20,000 votes. This strong endorsement reflects A Plus’s belief that Hon. Afenyo-Markin’s efforts have resonated deeply with the people of Winneba and that his track record speaks volumes about his effectiveness as a leader and representative.
