GFA FOUNDATION LAUNCHED

The Ghana Football Association has officially launched a charity wing called GFA Foundation to reach out to the needy, touching lives, giving back to society and most importantly focusing on the welfare of industry players.

The mission of the Foundation is to positively impact the lives of people through the support of national and international development initiatives and goals. The Foundation will be managed by a Board of Trustees chaired by Astute Chartered Insurer Daniel Awuah Darko.

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) is the successor to the Gold Coast Football Association, which used to be the governing body for football in Ghana and was one of the oldest football associations in Africa, having been founded in 1920. Records indicate that Cape Coast and Accra were the first colonial cities in sub-Saharan Africa to host formal leagues on the Gold Coast.
