Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum, the Minister of Education, joined a group of brilliant young minds he sponsored to pursue engineering studies at the University of Mines and Technology (UMaT) for their Thanksgiving Ceremony, as they prepare for graduation.
The Minister, who covered the full tuition and provided a stipend to support the students from their first year (Level 100) to their final year (Level 400), expressed his pride in their achievements and commended their hard work and dedication.
Hon. Adutwum emphasized the importance of practical experience and highlighted the fact that many of these students have been posted to prestigious organizations, including Ghana Gas, AngloGold Ashanti, and Tema Harbour, for their National Service. This placement allows them to apply their skills and knowledge in real-world settings, gaining valuable experience and contributing to the nation’s development.
In his address, Hon. Adutwum encouraged the students to carry forward this momentum and use their engineering skills to make a positive impact on their communities, particularly in Bosomtwe and surrounding areas. He expressed confidence in their potential, stating that they are on the path to greatness and will contribute significantly to Ghana’s development.
