Communications Ministry Undergoes Restructuring, Minister Requests Leadership CVs

The Ministry of Communications, Digital Technology, and Innovation (MoCDTI) is embarking on a strategic human resource restructuring initiative to optimize its operational efficiency and align with the President’s vision for governance reform. According to a media advisory released Saturday, the restructuring is intended to improve effectiveness across the Ministry, its agencies, and related programs.

A key initial step in this process was the Minister, Sam Nartey George’s, request for the Curriculum Vitae (CVs) of all Directors and senior management staff. This request indicates a potential realignment of leadership within the Ministry.

The first phase of the restructuring is already underway, affecting prominent institutions such as the National Communications Authority (NCA) and the Ghana Digital Acceleration Programme, which is being conducted in collaboration with the World Bank. The advisory also indicates that further changes within the Ministry and its various agencies are anticipated in the coming weeks.

“The initial phase of this restructuring has been implemented, impacting the National Communications Authority and the Ghana Digital Acceleration Programme in collaboration with the World Bank,” the statement detailed.

Minister Sam Nartey George acknowledged the dedication of the Ministry’s staff and expressed his gratitude for their service. He also extended his best wishes for their future professional endeavors.

“The Minister expresses gratitude to all staff for their dedication and service to the nation and extends best wishes for their continued and future professional endeavors,” the advisory stated.

The restructuring is expected to improve the Ministry’s operational framework and drive innovation within Ghana’s digital and communications sector. The MoCDTI plays a crucial role in Ghana’s digital transformation, overseeing telecommunications regulation, digital infrastructure development, and technology-driven governance reforms. This current effort aligns with broader governmental initiatives aimed at modernizing public administration and enhancing service delivery to the public.
