C/R: QUEEN MOTHER OF EKUMFI SWEDRU APPEALS TO GOVERNMENT TO REDUCE TAXES ON SANITARY PADS (VIDEO)

The queen mother of Ekumfi Swedru in the Ekumfi district, Nana Adwoa Enyinfuaa III has appealed to the government to reduce the taxes on sanitary pads to enable parents to buy for their girls.

Speaking to the media, the queen mother of Ekumfi Swedru, Nana Adwoa Enyinfuaa III pleaded with parents to take responsibility for buying sanitary pads for their girls always.

She said, for some time now, she has been providing pads for the girls in her area but these prices are high because of high taxes and when the prices are reduced, parents can buy for their girls and queen mothers can also support their people.

She asked the girls to concentrate on their education instead following men who give them few cedis and impregnate them in the end.

Nana Adwoa Enyinfuaa III also pleaded with the elderly men who take advantage of young girls when they offer them help.

She added that it is good to help the needy which the good book urges us to do so help these girls from your heart and do not take your reward in kind.
