Godfred Takyi Boateng, a highly accomplished first-year (level 100) student at the University of Cape Coast (UCC), has earned the esteemed opportunity to represent Ghana at the upcoming “Chinese Bridge” competition in China later this year.
Godfred, who is pursuing a Bachelor of Arts degree with a triple major in Chinese, African Studies, and Classics & Philosophy, distinguished himself through an exceptional performance at the preliminary competition held at UCC. His spirited and skillful presentation allowed him to emerge victorious from a field of talented competitors hailing from the University of Ghana (UG) and the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST).
The “Chinese Bridge” competition is an international event designed to promote Chinese language and culture among foreign students. His selection to represent Ghana is a testament to his talents and skills. Born on March 12, 2006, he is a Resident of Buokrom Estate in Kumasi and an Alumnus of Asanco Model Basic School at Asankrangwa in the Western Region. He took the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) in 2021 while still in Form 2 and attended Presbyterian Boys’ Secondary School (PRESEC, Legon) from 2022 to 2024. He is a dedicated member of the Church of Pentecost, PIWC, Airport Roundabout – Kumasi and Gained admission to UCC to pursue a B. A in Chinese, African Studies, and Classics & Philosophy in 2024.
