IBS Educational Complex, Asankrangwa, a school dedicated to providing a holistic educational experience for its students, embarked on an enriching and memorable educational tour on Saturday, September 28th, 2024. The itinerary took students on an exciting journey to Takoradi Harbour, exploring the Logos Hope, the world’s largest floating library and Christian missionary ship operated by Good Books for All (GBA).

The day began with a palpable sense of excitement as one large bus and six vans departed from IBS Educational Complex at 5:00 am. The students, brimming with anticipation, were eager to experience the wonders that awaited them.

Upon arriving in Takoradi around 10:30 am, they were greeted by the school’s Director, Hon. Alberto Tekyi, at his residence. The students were treated to a special breakfast at his home before embarking on the next leg of their journey.

By 1:00 pm, the students found themselves on the Logos Hope, stepping into the guest room alongside other tourists. They received a fascinating briefing on the ship’s history and were presented with a map outlining the ship’s entry and exit points. The students were captivated as they explored the ship’s vast library, browsing through the shelves to select their preferred books. The aisles were filled with enthusiastic chatter as students marveled at the diverse selection of literature. Empowering picture poses captured the excitement of the moment, as students commemorated their literary adventure. Some students took a break at the ship’s cafe, savouring a selection of snacks and refreshments.

After disembarking, the students enjoyed a guided tour of the bustling Takoradi Harbour, capturing the grandeur of the port through captivating photographs.

The excursion culminated with a visit to the Takoradi Shoprite, a popular shopping mall. Here, students indulged in the excitement of exploring the store’s diverse offerings, taking photos, and selecting items to bring back home. Some teachers and students savoured a delicious meal at the mall’s food court, enjoying a diverse range of culinary options.

As the sun began to set, the buses departed the Takoradi Mall around 6:00 pm, heading back to Asankrangwa. The journey back was filled with lively conversations, shared stories, and reflections on the day’s experiences. By 11:00 pm, all seven vehicles safely returned to the school campus, bringing the memorable excursion to a close. Students were accommodated on campus for the night and returned to their homes on Sunday morning.
