In a disturbing development, the police have retrieved the remains of Professor Amedeke, a lecturer at the University of Education, Winneba (UEW), who was reported missing on May 21, 2025 by his colleagues at UEW after several attempts to contact him proved unsuccessful. Alarmed by his disappearance, they alerted the police, prompting an official investigation into his whereabouts.
Initial investigations took a grim turn when authorities uncovered evidence suggesting that the professor had been murdered and secretly buried at his own residence in Essuokyir, a town in the Central Region. The police exhumed his body from the residence, and it has been transferred to a medical facility for autopsy and preservation. Investigators are working diligently to establish the cause of death and the circumstances leading to this tragic event.
One suspect, Joshua Karry Arthur, has been apprehended in connection with the case. He is currently assisting police with their inquiries. The police have also retrieved several exhibits from the suspect, including two Samsung phones, a laptop, a 50-inch television, and a car key to a Toyota Fortuner, all of which were identified as belonging to the deceased.
