The Youth Employment Agency (YEA), under the leadership of CEO Malik Basintale, has announced the launch of a new initiative called the Graduates in Corporate Support (GRICS) program. This innovative program is designed to address the persistent challenge of graduate unemployment by connecting young, unemployed graduates with opportunities within corporate firms and industries across the nation.
The GRICS program aims to leverage the skills and expertise of these graduates to support the 24-hour operational systems commonly employed by corporate entities. By deploying graduates to these firms, the YEA seeks to create a mutually beneficial scenario: graduates gain valuable work experience and practical skills, while businesses receive additional support to enhance their operational efficiency. The program is geared towards providing real world applicable skills to these young graduates to prepare them for the competitive world of employment.
The program aims to bridge the gap between academic knowledge and the practical demands of the corporate world. Graduates participating in GRICS will be exposed to the day-to-day operations of established companies, gaining firsthand experience in various aspects of corporate support and contributing to the overall productivity of the organizations.
The introduction of the GRICS program reflects the YEA’s commitment to developing and implementing targeted initiatives that address specific employment challenges faced by young Ghanaians. By strategically partnering with corporate firms and industries, the YEA aims to create sustainable employment pathways and empower graduates to transition successfully into the workforce. The program seeks to ensure unemployed graduates are given the skills needed to be productive members of the workforce.
